Have you ever had “one of those days?” Yesterday was one of those days for me. To start off the day I woke up late, and then after I dropped my two beautiful boys off at the babysitter, I stopped to get something to drink. When I opened the cooler at the gas station, a coke fell out and exploded all over me. The day started to get better until I got off work and realized I had lost my debit card aka my life line. SO, I had to call the bank, and cancel the card, and now I have to wait for a new one. Then my sweet little Matthew comes to me with a tummy ache and his bum bum hurting. So I had to give him a suppository to help him go potty, which burns and so I sat there and cried while he cried because I felt so bad for him.
On a good note though, Michael has been trying to walk now for about 2 weeks, yesterday he walked from the chair to the couch all by himself. I honestly think he would already be walking if his big brother would stop pushing him down, he thinks it’s funny. I have never seen a child wake up with such a happy disposition as Michael does. He can just brighten up any day.
Both of my boys are growing up so fast. Michael will be 1 year old on the 19th of May and Matthew will be 3 on the 30th of May. Man how time flies. I can remember thinking I would never get to have children, and then finding out I was pregnant with Matthew after trying for so long to get pregnant just blew me away. There is actually a funny story about how I found out I was pregnant with Matthew. I was at home and I was watching TV and a commercial came on about a pregnancy test. Well something just compelled me to go and take the test that was in my medicine cabinet. I was home all by myself so I thought why not. I took the test and low and behold it was positive. Well the test had been up there for so long that I thought well it is probably a false positive. I just could not imagine that I would be pregnant. So, I called my best friend Kathy. I told her hey I need to talk to you I am coming over. When I got to her house, I said “Let’s go to Wal-Mart.” She kept asking me what was going on. I told her what I had done and that I wanted to buy another test and take it to see what it said. This is when the digital pregnancy test had come out so we picked one up. We went back to her house and her husband Lathaniel was home. I went and did the test and left it on her bathroom counter to process. He goofy husband locked himself in there and wouldn’t let me in to see what it said. He kept going on saying your pregnant, your pregnant. I told him he was lying when he opened the door and handed me the test it said “PREGNANT” I about died, and that is how I found out I was pregnant with Matthew.
Michael was a little more normal. I had just started a new job, and I got sick, like a virus or something, and I work for a Medical Research company so we have a lab, The little girl drew my blood and did a serum pregnancy test just as a joke…Funny HA HA! I was pregnant. I could not believe it. We weren’t even trying. I was on birth control and everything, but I had gotten Strep about a month before and was on Antibiotic. I had forgotten the rule that Antibiotic cancels out your birth control. So that is how I ended up pregnant with Michael.
It is funny how God decides to bless us in this life. Good days and Bad I am thankful for every one of them. I am blessed everyday by God and my family.
